ENHANCE LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT OF YOUR STAFF USING THE COLLINS COLLABORATIVE TRAINING FRAMEWORK- D
It is somewhat alarming how frequently a haphazard approach to training and development of staff is implemented in real world environment. The non-joined up thinking, the last-minute approach, the tick box orientation, are but a few of the negatives I’ve encountered over the years. The outcomes of the aforementioned approach are not good. Fru
strated learners, limited opportunities for application of learning and little tangible return on monies invested in training.
An approach to staff training I’ve developed that consistently delivers better learning outcomes, higher retention of course content and superior work performance is collaborative training – design delivery and deployment. This process comprises of four stages pre-training-delivery, one stage during delivery and four processes post-training-delivery. The nine stages summarised below are simple, self-evident and sequential.
COLLINS COLLABORATIVE TRAINING FRAMEWORK - DESIGN, DELIVERY & DEPLOYMENT
Pre-course consultation - assess the results requirement of the organisation
Pre-course training needs analysis for each attendee - assess learning needs of individuals
Pre-course creation of tailored training content - produce material to close identified skills gap
Pre-course prep by attendees - identify links between course material and application
Delivery of high impact, results focused training - actively engage attendees in the learning process
Post training skill-set application plan - encourage learners create a plan to implement learning
Post training written training report - utilise Johari Window to identify organisational blind spots
Post training assessment - utilise Brinkerhoff evaluation methodology - identify barriers & supports
Post training skill-set application follow-up option - allow learners a post training meeting with trainer
Why not give collaborative training a try? if you have any feedback on your results please let me know.
